I'd like to use a CD burning program that is completely free of malware/adware and that won't try to sneak these things on to my PC. I especially dislike that the developers usually try to talk around the issue on their own forums. I refuse to install anything that packages malware/adware with it. I used to use ImgBurn, but I recently switched PCs and no longer have the option to use that program. This system is easy to use and worthwhile software for any and everyone to get behind.After reading all of the recent horror stories regarding ImgBurn, CDBurnerXP and the hidden malware that gets packaged with them such as OpenCandy and Conduit/Search Protect, I've become very hesitant to try to install any CD burning program (or, for that matter, anything on the internet it seems Search Protect and OpenCandy are packaged with so many things these days).

In more recent updates, InfraRecorder is now capable of doing more than just burning music and basic video and sound onto discs. Having been released thirteen years ago, this product has had time to grow and change with the needs and demands of its users. With the 64-bit versions, you do miss out on Ogg Vorbis decoder as well as the libsnd library due to some complications with MinGW on the Windows platform. Currently, InfraRecorder is compatible with all Windows Operating systems except for those older than Windows 2000 and is even included in the 64-bit versions of Windows. Christain was able to offer InfraRecorder to the public for free, making it the much cheaper alternative to using commercial writing software. Developed and released by Christain Kindahl back in 2006, this program made it possible for people to compile, create, and burn their own CDs and DVDs in the comforts of their own home. Even though InfraRecorder uses cdrtools to do the actual disc writing, the software helped to completely optimize the task and make it easy enough for anyone with interest in mixtapes or home movies to do it. Having been rated by CNET as the best disc burning software in 2007, InfraRecorder was the first of its kind in at home cd and DVD writing software.
